Fine-tuning for Cyber Mesa


The instructions that follow should guide you if you are changing your Mail Server and/or the domain for your email address - or if you have come to Cyber Mesa from another service such as Studio X. If you are a brand new subscriber, we recommend that you start first with our basic instructions on the Web.

Regardless of the domain you use for your email (e.g., jdoe@whateverdomain.com) you need to be certain that you email program reflects our new Mail Server called pop.cybermesa.com. If you have a Macintosh, it is essential that you make changes in your TCP/IP settings. You may also want to use www.cybermesa.com for your home page.


Configuring your Email Program

To proceed, pick your email program from the icons below:

Eudora   Outlook Express
Netscape   Internet Mail

In the event that your email program is not listed above, or if you are impatient with detailed instructions, the needed changes are quite easy. The inbound (POP3) is pop.cybermesa.com and outbound (SMTP) is smtp.cybermesa.com . Please select a domain for your return address from our list of Cyber Mesa domains right away!


Your Macintosh TCP/IP Configuration

The TCP/IP settings for the Macintosh define the Domain Name Server, both by name and by number. The name should be changed to cybermesa.com, and the number to 198.59.109.7. Our detailed instructions include screen shots.


Setting your Home Page to Cyber Mesa

The advantage of using your Internet Provider's home page is that it will load very quickly because it is on the same system into which you dialed. The only trick to changing the home page is that you must be connected the Internet when you make the change.

Netscape  After connecting to the Internet, open the program and in the Location box type http://www.cybermesa.com. Press Enter to bring up the page. From the menu bar, go to Edit, then Preferences. The default window that appears has a Home page section. Click on the Use Current Page button. Then click OK.

Internet Explorer  After connecting to the Internet, open the program and in the Address box type http://www.cybermesa.com. Press Enter to bring up the page. From the menu bar, go to View, then Internet Options. The default window that appears has a Home page section. Click on the Use Current button. Then click OK.
